Membership in the St. Andrew's Royal Scottish Honour
Guard is open to anyone interested in the pageantry of ceremony & parade
and things Scottish. It is not necessary to be of Scots descent, only an
affinity for our Celtic race. Membership is open to both men and women,
but, the ability to march and carry a flag or banner on a parade route is
a physical requirement. You must also be willing to purchase the uniform
and accoutrements which will run around $2,000.00 by the time you're all
set.
The Honour Guard is currently amassing basic equipment which can be loaned
to a prospective Guard member until he or she can purchase their own, but
the basic uniform, consisting of tunic, kilt, hose, spats, shoes and shirt
is still the responsibility of the Guardsman. Used uniform pieces are often
available at lower cost from Guardsmen who have upgraded or replaced certain
items of their uniform.
